the attack at Charlie Hebdo
Council of Mosques – Tower Hamlets representing 55 Mosques & Islamic institution within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Condemning the attack and killings at French Newspaper Charlie Hebdo. We offer our condolences to all the family, relatives and friends of the victims.
Charlie Hebdo is a weekly satirical magazine that is known for mocking radical Islam. This does not justify the attack and killing of the journalists.
This horrific incident was uncalled for and could provoke an unsettlement within our Muslim communities.
We urge every Muslim organisations to condemn this incident and to convey this message to the worshippers and community to maintain peace by not escalading it further by means of social media and others.
We also urged the French government to protect Muslims living in France from retaliation.
